Several years ago I worked in
industry developing technology for printers.During the early years of the internet, interesting problems occurred in
printing from the web.One project that
I worked on was to ensure that what a person wanted to print from their
computer screen was actually what got printed. It sounds like a no-brainer, but this was a difficult task, and it was
quite dissatisfying to our customers when the printed item was different from
what showed on the screen. As always in
industry, we developed a nickname for our work.It was called WYSIWYG, (What You See Is What You Get) pronounced
wizzywig.
This concept of wysiwyg came to
mind as I was reading about Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. At the beginning, with palms waving, the
crowds cheered and shouted Hosanna, expecting him to be the messiah, the king,
the one to save them.Just days later,
Jesus had not changed.He remained
steadfast to God’s will. The crowd on
the other hand had stopped shouting Hosanna and now shouted Crucify Him.What they got was no longer what they wanted.
Isn’t
it wonderful and amazing that Jesus who has seen both sides of us; the side
that builds up and the side that destroys, and even while facing death on the
cross, He wants us.He sees us and He
wants us.Have a Happy Easter, and Be
Blessed.
