Queen Anne UMC has joined hundreds of other supporters in a year long effort on behalf of the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church in its mission to restore Lewis County, which has been ravaged by major flooding several times in the past three years. Some residents are still displaced, others lost their homes, businesses, farms, pets, and more.
Most of our work recently has been inside recovery, i.e. drywalling,
taping and mudding, texturing, installing molding and trim, installing
insulation, painting, installing flooring, building porches, plumbing,
and electrical. We’ve also done quite a bit of debris removal from
pastures and fence lines and helped build a couple of fences.
No building or repair experience is required. Just a genuine desire to help people in need. For those with experience and tools, you may want to bring a few of your favorite essential items and a small tool belt.
Next Trip: Friday December 4th 2009.
We ask that you arrive at the church no later than 7:00 am. We will plan to stay in Lewis County for the afternoon returning to Queen Anne UMC in the early evening.
We will have coffee and donuts ready for the trip down to Lewis County, but once we are there you will need to provide your own lunch. Bring a bag lunch or money for purchasing something while we're there.
We hope you will join us in this important mission trip.
