Queen Anne UMC recently received an educational grant and we wish to add a Children’s Education Coordinator to our staff. To Apply, click here.
The Education Coordinator will be responsible for developing, promoting and growing the Children’s Christian Education Program at Queen Anne United Methodist Church.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Create lesson plans for Sunday School to include Bible stories, crafts, songs, games, etc. Lessons must be versatile enough for multiple age groups. Typically, our children range from 3-6 years old.
- With the help of a volunteer, lead Sunday School in a separate room during the Worship Service (approximately one hour)
- Communicate with parents and prospective parents on a weekly basis using some form of electronic newsletter. A summary of what was covered that week and a preview of what to expect next week should be included.
- Assist in marketing the Children’s Christian Education Program to the surrounding community
- Create a short (3-5 minutes) Children’s Lesson to give at the beginning of Worship Service
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Christian teachings and ideals necessary
- Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development or Education preferred
- Background check required
- Must comply with the United Methodist “Safe Church” Policy
Term of Employment:
Initial term of employment will be one year from date of hire with the possibility to extend the term. Employment will be on a part time basis.
